Veronika HirschPortfolio Manager
A senior Portfolio Manager with Arrow Capital, Veronika Hirsch is a highly regarded Canadian equity manager with over 25 years investment experience. She makes frequent appearances on BNN and other business media outlets. Previously, Ms. Hirsch was Chief Investment officer at BluMont where she was Portfolio Manager of various Exemplar Funds. Previously, Ms. Hirsch co-founded Integrated Asset Management Corp., and served as a Vice President and Portfolio Manager at AGF and Fidelity Management. She began her career as a Portfolio Trader at Prudential, later rising to Vice President and Portfolio Manager. Ms. Hirsch holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and is a fellow of the Life Management Institute.
Mark Purdy, CFAChief Investment Officer
Mr. Purdy serves as Chair of the Investment Committee at Arrow Capital Management. With over 20 years of related experience, Mr. Purdy shares responsibility for hedge fund manager selection and asset allocation process. He has served on Arrow Capital’s Investment Committee since its inception. Mr. Purdy held senior roles at BPI Financial Corporation and IBM Canada Ltd. Mr. Purdy graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce and Economics degree. Mr. Purdy is active in Varsity Blues alumni fundraising projects at the University of Toronto and is on the Board of the Ireland Park Foundation.
Jim McGovernLead Portfolio Manager
Mr. McGovern founded Arrow Capital Management in 1999, bringing over 25 years of related experience. Previously he was President and Chief Executive Officer at BPI Financial Corporation (Canada), a publicly traded company that he co-founded thirteen years prior and which managed or administered over $6bn. Mr. McGovern is a founding and past Chairman of the Canada National Group of the Alternative Investment Management Association. Mr. McGovern graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce and Finance degree. He is active in charitable organizations, including Hedge Funds Care Canada and University Health Network. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Fraser Institute.
Ted Whitehead, CFASenior Portfolio Manager
Ted Whitehead is a Senior Portfolio Manager with Arrow Capital, bringing over 30 years of experience in the Financial Industry. Prior to joining Arrow, Ted spent 20 years at Manulife Asset Management as a Senior Portfolio Manager managing Small/Mid and All Cap Portfolios. Previously he was a Trader at Credit Suisse and Investment Advisor at both RBC Dominion Securities and Walwyn Stodgell Cochran Murray.
Alex Ruus, CFAPortfolio Manager
Mr. Ruus brings over 20 years investment experience to his role as Portfolio Manager. The Leaders Fund, managed by Mr. Ruus, was awarded the “Alternative Strategies Lipper Award” in 2013. Previously, he worked at Chevron Canada Resources as an Engineer and was later appointed Portfolio Manager. Mr. Ruus has managed portfolios for Perigee Inc, Cumberland Asset Management, Northern Rivers Funds and BluMont Capital Corporation. Mr. Ruus has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Ahson Mirza is a Portfolio Manager at Arrow Capital Management, he joined the firm in 2016. Prior to Arrow Capital, Ahson worked for Timelo Investment Management in Toronto and Formula Growth Limited in Montreal as an investment analyst. Lyn Wang is a Risk & Investment Analyst at Arrow Capital. Prior to joining Arrow, Lyn had an internship at Raymond James Ltd. as a Product Risk Associate. Lyn graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2017 with Master of Science in Finance. At SFU, Lyn was an Equity Research Analyst for the Materials Sector of Canada’s largest student-run endowment fund called SIAS.
James Hodgins, CFAChief Investment Officer, CHS Asset Management
Prior to co-founding Toronto based CHS Asset Management, Mr. Hodgins founded Canaccord Adams' Hedge Strategy Group, ranked #1 by Hedge Funds in the 2005 Brendan Woods Survey for Quality of Investment Ideas and Reputational Franchise. An avid student of the market with more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Hodgins is an accomplished hedge fund strategist. He has particular expertise in applying non-linear quantitative techniques grounded in behavioural finance, reflexivity and option theory to the relatively inefficient small cap market. Borrowing heavily from George Soros, Mr. Hodgins has coined the term "reflexive change" to explain a number of observed market inefficiencies. Before Canaccord, Mr. Hodgins worked in the quantitative investment division of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, one of Canada's premier asset managers with more than $100bn under management. Mr. Hodgins holds a Business degree and an M.B.A. from the Simon School of Business, University of Rochester.
Geoff Phipps, CFACo-Founder, Portfolio Manager & Head of Event Driven Strategies, CHS Asset Management
Mr. Phipps is Co-Founder, Portfolio Manager and Head of Event Driven Strategies at CHS Asset Management. While the Event Driven Strategies are Geoff’s focus, other duties including managing CHS’ trading operations, as well as idea generation for other strategies within the Curvature portfolio. Prior to co-founding CHS, Mr. Phipps and James Hodgins ran the Canaccord Adams proprietary trading group from 2004-2008. Geoff managed the arbitrage strategies, including merger arbitrage, convertible arbitrage, and warrant arbitrage. Previous to his tenure at Canaccord Adams, Mr. Phipps spent time working in the research department of a Canadian boutique investment bank and also at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

Mike MacBain has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry in various trading and senior management roles for leading investment dealers. Previously he was the Managing Director, Head of Global Debt Markets, RBC Capital Markets (2008-2009) and President of TD Securities (2002-2006) after holding senior management roles focused on derivatives, fixed income, money markets and foreign exchange globally. In 2004, he was awarded Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40 Business Person.” Mike has completed the Executive Management Program at Stanford University and earned his BA, Honours Economics and Finance, from McGill University.

Sean Reynolds is a Portfolio Manager/Analyst for all capital structure and convertibles-based strategies. Prior to joining the Firm in 2007, Sean was a portfolio manager for convertible arbitrage strategies at SAC Capital Management from April 2003 to August 2006 and, subsequent to this, senior portfolio manager at Sailfish Capital Partners’ G2 Multistrategy Fund. Previously he was a convertible arbitrage portfolio manager at the Clinton Group, Inc. From 1997 to 2002, Sean was a managing director and Head of Convertibles Sales (US) at Deutsche Bank Securities, including a period as an executive member of the North American Management Committee, Deutsche Bank Equities. Prior to 1997, Sean was responsible for global convertible securities sales at UBS Securities and domestic convertibles at Merrill Lynch. He has been in the investment industry since 1993. Sean has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Math and BAI (BSc) in Engineering from Trinity College Dublin.
